" An honest journey of life's trials and tribulations. This book is for ALL women. This book truly touched my soul. I connected with the words, thoughts and emotions pouring out of Liza's word. As a Christian woman, I found it uplifting and hopeful. Liza shows raw honestly, that I find admirable. Being a Christian woman comes with a lot of struggles in a society that does not value what scripture tells us. I appreciated that you brought it all back to scripture, thank you!" -reader Amazon review
"I read this book in one night! From the opening first line I was drawn in and could not stop until the end! We all have those obsessions, crushes, infatuations (call them what you will) and this writer gives us a very personal account with earthly love and God's abiding heavenly love for us. Waiting for a sequel!!."

"A brief collection of autobiographical poems, Bible quotes, and reflections on a difficult relationship written during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mitchell states that, when it comes to love, "I do not know how to have a relationship without becoming obsessed." After she went through two divorces, her relationship with a man named Sean seemed different, as they had much in common. She became concerned, however, when he wouldn't invite her to his family gatherings. They broke up three times during a 16-month period, and when Mitchell engaged in behavior that others called stalking, she swore off men and embarked on a journey of self-discovery. She felt guilty about her actions, she says, so she turned inward and to the Bible to figure out the reasons for her behavior in romantic relationships. Over the course of more than six months, she wrote narrative reflections and poetry, and kept a journal of Bible quotes that interested her, some of which she includes here with comments. In these pages, she reflects on issues such as attraction, selfishness, guilt, boundaries and obsession, as well as Christianity. Her poetry is often lyrical and intriguing. Throughout, Mitchell opens her heart and mind to the reader in an endearing way while addressing universal issues. However, readers may feel that her self-examination in these pages is overly critical, and some make take some issue with some of her insertions: for example, she includes on her list of lessons that one should "never discuss anything about the man you are dating with anyone"-including friends who could potentially offer a fresh, outside opinion.
An often engaging set of reflections that demonstrate the difficulties of finding confidence in a relationship."

More Than a Just a Memoir
Reading "Mind Your Heart" felt like diving into someone's personal journey, where every emotion was laid bare. Liza's Mitchell's every motion was laid bare and is a raw and unfiltered account of her struggles with love, faith and self discovery. I as immediately drawn into her world as candidly shared her experiences of losing herself in the pursuit of a man and drifting away from her connection from God. However, what truly resonates with me was Liza's journey toward redemption and reconciliation. The way Liza recounts her relentless pursuit of Sean, despite the red flags, felt incredibly relatable. Her honest portrayal of her own un-Christlike behaviours in the tumultuous relationship, was both eye-opening and thought provoking. I found myself emphasizing with her internal conflict, especially during moments of remorse about her place in her church community. however what truly resonated with me Liza's journey towards redemption and reconcilliation. Her unwavering faith and determination to reconnect with herself and God painted a powerful picture of resilience and spiritual growth. the book beautifully highlights the transformative power of faith and the overwhelming grace that comes from embracing one's own mistakes.
Mind Your Heart is more than a memoir; it is a testament to the strength found in returning to one's true self and reconnection to with God's boundless love. Liz Mitchell's story is a poignant reminder that, despite flaws and missteps, redemption and healing are always within reach through faith and self reflection.

About the Author
Liza Mitchell lives alone in small-town Ontario, Canada—where she lived with her son during the writing of this memoir, before his passing. She intends this, her first book, to strengthen and hearten any Christian women dealing with similar situations to what she’s been through, reminding them not only to be more discerning in who they choose to romantically pursue, but also to trust in God’s will, knowing He knows best—and that in Him, they can always find love and forgiveness.
Liza is presently working on her second book, a fictional book called "Demons Knocking At The Church Door"
